What we collect

  • Parent account: your email address, your name, and (if you sign in with Google) a Google account identifier.
  • Kid profile: a display name you choose, an age band (e.g., U10), a primary position (defender, midfielder, striker, or goalkeeper), and a passcode hash so the kid can switch into their own profile within your account.
  • Behavioral progress: which videos the kid watched, how much of each video played, and when. Used to generate the next session and to evaluate whether the curation is working.

We do not collect raw video or audio from your kid, photos, or location data. We do not require a phone number.

How we use it

  • Personalize sessions:the next session is generated from the kid's age, position, and prior progress.
  • Email you: weekly progress digests, account verification, and security notices. You can unsubscribe from the digests at any time.
  • Evaluate the product: aggregate, pseudonymous analytics show us whether kids are sticking with the app and which curation choices land. Per-kid analytics use a pseudonymous ID. No raw kid PII reaches the analytics layer.

Who we share with

We use a small set of vendors that process data on our behalf. We describe them by category here so this page does not have to churn every time we change a provider; if you want to know the specific company behind any of these categories at any given time, email legal@soccerskills.app and we will tell you.

  • Database hosting provider: hosts your account and progress data in a managed Postgres database located in the United States.
  • Transactional email service: sends weekly digests, account verification, security notices, and other transactional email. They process the email address you signed up with; they do not receive any other family data.
  • Behavioral analytics service:receives aggregate event data (which screens get used, which sessions get completed) tied to a pseudonymous ID, not to your email or your kid's real name. The pseudonym is one-way and cannot be reversed into a real identity.
  • YouTube:the videos themselves are hosted by YouTube and embedded in our app. We never re-host video. The YouTube embed reaches YouTube directly when your kid plays a video; Google's privacy practices apply to that playback. YouTube is named here because the embed talks to their servers directly, not through us.

We do not sell your data, ever. We do not run ads. Trust is the product.

Retention

Progress and session data are retained for 24 months by default, then automatically deleted. Parent account data is retained until you delete the account.

Your rights (and your kid's)

  • Delete: you can delete your account at any time from the account settings. Deletion cascades through all kid profiles, progress data, and the pseudonymous analytics identifier in one request.
  • Export: request a copy of your data via the contact address below.
  • Correct:update your name, your kid's display name, age band, or position from the account settings.
  • Withdraw consent: deleting the account is the canonical way to withdraw consent for kid data collection.

COPPA notice

SoccerSkills is designed for U9 to U18 club soccer players and their parents. Kid profiles are created and managed by the parent account; kids do not create accounts directly. We collect the minimum data needed to generate age-appropriate training content. You give COPPA-compliant consent during onboarding, and you can withdraw it any time by deleting the account.

Physician disclaimer

The training content in SoccerSkills is curated from credentialed coaches but is not medical advice. If your kid has an injury history, ongoing medical condition, or any concern about a specific drill, consult their physician or a qualified sports medicine professional before starting that drill.
